1. careful, worse, interest, bruises, pulled
"I don't know which is worse," Nick said. He pulled a second bag off the trailer, then wandered away, still muttering.
Dalo blinked and looked after him.
"Don't mind him." Kate chewed her lip for a moment, then stepped up to the trailer to pick up a bag. She could never tell what Dalo was thinking: was he showing interest, disgust, annoyance, amusement... she would have to tell Nick to be more careful.
The box was heavy, and as she heaved it off the trailer it pressed into some old bruises on her hip. She grimaced and shifted her grip to take the pressure off.
2. write about something that's wet
The box tried to keep going, and she staggered a half turn. As she stopped, it pulled to the other side, and she could hear sloshing.
"Er," Kate said, then stopped. Never mind. What people packed in their luggage wasn't her business, as long as it wasn't dangerous - and that was security's business.
She started hauling the box toward the door, following Nick. After a dozen steps she got her feet and the sloshing liquid synchronized and stopped feeling like she was going to fall over. Dalo picked up the last bag and followed only one step behind, watching the box intently.
3. write about an inside joke
They followed the paper signs, taped to the wall at every intersection, going through the service hallways - empty of even employees. Kate glanced down one of the other corridors before turning to follow the sign again. Right to the corner, it was empty. Maybe there was a security guard standing just around the corner, keeping their route clear. She amused herself for a moment, figuring out where the guards would have to be so that they were invisible to their visitor but still able to do their job.
Kate and Dalo came through yet another door, and saw the reception committee in all their finery. Kate smiled at the box, and wondered what Dalo was thinking. She knew from their time on Dalo's world and on the trip here that they were somewhat obsessive about being casual. It seemed that nobody had told this to the heads of state standing in the room. They had at least told security.
