National Novel Writing Month 2003

I wrote an entire 50,000 word novel in 30 days. Actually, 28; I started writing on the 2nd and finished on the 29th of November. The story ended at about 50,300 words - very nearly a "bullseye"!

The entire thing is posted here exactly as it was during the month of November. That is, the table of contents in the frame to the left doesn't reflect the chapters, but each days' writing. It is also a first draft, so there are a few plot holes, but nothing too major.

At the bottom of the table of contents you will find links to PDF and NewtonBook files containing the entire story if you prefer to read offline; those versions do not have the day headers, only the chapter headers. (Why a version in NewtonBook format, you ask? Well, several reasons: first, somebody made it and sent it to me, so I put it here; second, the entire thing was written on a Newton so it seemed appropriate; and third, a remarkably newton-like PDA plays a role in the story.)

What's the story about? Well, the quick version is that it's about a girl sent off to a colony world, with some conspiracy here and there, both on the part of the protagonists and the antagonists.
